User reviews

Great dash cam. Fairly intuitive to operate. I replaced it with a bigger storage SD card. Clear and good views on both front and rear cameras. Fast and informative customer service when I had connection issues (issue solved). Only problem I have is the daylight savings time conversion. I can’t seem to find the right GMT zone in the app settings, but I’ll have to play with it to find the right zone.Otherwise, I highly recommend it from the other dash cams that I’ve had.
24 Month Update. 24 month update:Still going strong; both cameras and the heavy duty micro SD card. Good visuals and audio of constant recording. If you use the car diagnostic plug for power source make sure to check the camera connection after taking your car to the repair shop. Sometimes those guys don’t put the plug back in and you’ll lose power to the camera. Just make sure to check the plug is inserted properly for constant power./////////////:::///:::::;;;;;;;;;;;;))))))))))I had the Pro 200 for two years along with the Extreme micro SD card. It has performed flawlessly- both front and back rear cameras. I attribute the performance due to the commercial upgrade SD card.It has been in my windshield in FL, SC, NC, and VA in direct sunlight. What’s more, in the summertime I install a silver heat reflecting screen to reduce interior heat. The camera is trapped between the screen and the windshield in direct sunlight. It must be over at least 120 deg F.IF, and I’d there’s a suggestion (like all card readable tools) the Thinkware software can stand some improvement. But as an engineer my theory is that SW is never FOC. It’s always IOC, always overly expensive, and labor intensive. Just run with it.If you’d looking for a solid dual cam setup this is the one.BTW, I did buy the external power cord plug that fits into the diagnostic car system. The fuse box connection made me Squamish on car warranty should an electric problem arise.Good luck
Great cam with a few quirks. Having a dash cam in your vehicle is essential to me for any car going forward. I saw this one and thought I might as well try it out. One little quirk out of the box was there was no plastic pry tools included to help you hide the cables for the device. Seems a bit odd they couldn't at least include a small one to help you get around the plastic/rubber in your car. I luckily had an extra from a prior camera, so was ok. Install was actually painless. I decided to purchase the ODB 2 power connector with the camera to make powering it easier for when the vehicle is off and it records parking. It made it so much simpler than trying to hardwire the thing and definitely recommend it to anyone looking to make wiring easier for parking mode recordings. So far it has been great. It has a little voice that tells me when it launches itself into regular recording vs parking. It tells me how many parking events occurred so that if I need to I can connect to the cam and pull those. While it doesn't include a screen to view the footage, it makes it quite easy to remove the included MicroSD card OR use the phone app. I noticed a few reviews complain about connecting via wifi...I have not ran into this issue but can offer some advice: Make sure your phone isn't trying to connect to another wifi at the time (like wireless carplay/android auto) AND make sure to give your camera ample time to turn on the wifi (it will tell you when to connect).Just an FYI for those wondering: The camera only takes up to 128GB MicroSD cards from what I understand. It does come included with a 32GB MicroSD card, which for me works fine. When it reaches capacity it just starts overwriting old footage. The other odd quirk I had with the camera was this: While sitting in traffic for a couple minutes, the camera did switch to parking mode for some odd reason for me...I guess it detected it wasn't moving and thought maybe it was being parked. Found it quite odd. After a few seconds of moving though it went back to regular recording. A little worrisome, but have only had it happen once so far.Overall, rated it 4/5 stars because of the quirks. It isn't perfect, but does seem better than cheaper cameras for sure. Definitely still recommend for anyone looking for a decently priced camera.
Good Camera. The video quality is good, not great. However, it gets the job done. The installation is easy if you’re not wiring it. However, get done by a professional so you don’t run the risk of ruining your system.
Worst camera app combo on the market. It's own app will not recognize it and disconnect . Can't install and use and can't return . Would not recommend it to anyone
Excellent. Affordable price, and excellent camera, fast delivery
Great working camera. The media could not be loaded. Great working camera. So easy to install any videos to you phone or tablet. It does stop recording if you are previewing videos or watching live on another device. I also found out it records voice inside, you hear everything once you download and watch, it also smooths out the video when you download it. Overall a very nice front and rear camera for when one of you speeders hit me I’ll be able to prove it was not my fault.
Works great! No distraction from screen. I have had several dashcams in my truck now and I have found that the screen inside the car can be distracting at night and is not useful outside of configuration (that is usually not very intuitive onscreen anyway); this dashcam is small and discreet, and has no bright light in the cabin at night. The picture quality is pretty good, and the 'Pro' kit included the hardwire and plug in adapter. Overall, I am quite happy with this dashcam. My only complaint is that the GPS antenna was not included and had to be purchased separately.
Very good quality, the app is simple to use
The camera works well. Very wide angle. I was able to connect it so recording continues when parked. Quite easy to install (I'm not a professional). What I don't like is you can't review the footage unless you are sitting in the car connected to the camera's WiFi. The app does not connect using any other WiFi
I recently purchased this dash cam and have been quite disappointed with its performance. The recording quality is subpar, with footage appearing blurry and unclear. Even in well-lit conditions, the video lacks sharpness and detail, making it difficult to discern important features such as license plates or road signs. I expected much better clarity for the price. Overall, I would not recommend this dash cam if high-quality recording is a priority
The video quality is impeccable. It is a bit irritating that the CarPlay has to be disabled every time you want to connect to an IPhone. The picture is a little misleading as it shows a GPS that is not included in the package.
The picture for this product is very misleading as it shows a picture of the gps adapter included. However if you read the ad details (which I should have before purchasing) you will see that it's not included like it is in some of thinkware other bundles. This is ok. I take the hit for that one, I should have read the ad, but I still feel like the main picture should not have the gps adapter in it if it's not included in this bundle.Thinkware otherwise is a great reliable dash cam if you are looking to purchase one.

Quality dashcam. Love this dashcam, had it professionally installed. Works very well. Install cost was $200.
Reliable. Using this camera for months now it is reliable and has withstood negative degree weather as well as weather into the high 90’s. The app is a little clunky but it works just fine. Video quality is great for both front and rear cameras. Would recommend!
Great balance of technology and money. Easy to install. Great price point for the quality of the camera and sensor technology. Haven’t had to rely on it yet, but all the tests gave me great quality video. Bought a second one for my other car. Don’t need to have a screen on it; the lack of one makes it slim and out of sight. Have it on a Outback.
Good camera but. Wish I could view the footage wherever I am. Seems like I have to be in the car in order to do so.
Awesome dashcam. The media could not be loaded. Great camera. High quality and very well made. This is the camera that Ford sells directly from their accessories. That being said this is OEM quality nice picture and works great. Has a great PC viewer app (in my video) that you can watch both front and rear camera at the same time as well as an app for iPhone or android to control camera settings and watch video. Very easy to install and looks functional and professional. Comes with a hard wiring kit with plenty of wire as well as cigarette lighter plug and GPS for speed and location. Awesome value for the money. I recommend this product.
Highly recommend. I’ve returned a few because I was so disappointed with them. Others wouldn’t video when needed. This one videos everything. Loving it
Complete garbage. Installation was easy but it's total garbage. Anytime you try to watch video it's won't play past 6 seconds and crashes the app. I've had it for a few hours and it's already done it multiple times.I changed the time zone and it won't record any more. I absolutely hate this thing already. Complete waste of money.
So far it works. So far the units are working as described. the current version of the app leaves a lot for improvements. the app crashes a lot on my Andriod phone. It was easy to setup and the instruction video's were very helpful. the documentation does not line up with the current app.
I’m really impressed with the Q200 Dash Cam! It’s easy to set up, comes with everything you need, and the 1440p footage is sharp and clear, day or night and the audio is crisp. The parking mode, safety alerts and speed camera warnings are super helpful. The Super Night Vision works well in low light. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features let me connect easily to the app on my phone. Overall, it’s a solid, reliable dash cam with lots of great features, everything you want and more. Highly recommend!
Very happy with the quality and consistency of recordings.
Straight forward cam, the bmw I have made it troublesome. The cam is great
Good camera but does not have camera setting on app. So need to change orientation physically
Stable and it functions as it states

Great car camera. Great camera with a clear picture. Easy to install. Only issue I had was where to tuck the extra power cord from the back camera to the front; I had 3 feet extra. Camera works great and thankfully no accidents but it did give me peace of mind traveling in congested areas prone to accidents. Great price also.
Easy Setup and Smart Phone Integration. I will preface this review by first stating that I just received this dash-cam and have not put it through long term use and testing. This review is based largely on features and ease of setup and use.Overall, the dash cam provided the features, flexibility and affordability (at sale price) I was looking for with a high definition 4k video, ease of use for setup, configuration and on-the-go activation and recording. The kit and packaging are well thought out and very professionally done.Although, there was very good documentation and a full small print manual provided, it would have been nice if they had a quick setup card that provided the following steps:1) Mounting. Kit contains several options from mounting: a suction cup style window mount and a 3M adhesive strip mounting bracket that can be used for dash mounting. The suction cup has a rotational clamping mechanism that tightens the suction and works very well, much better than others I have seen in past years. Make sure you clean the windshield first in the mounting area with the cleaning towlets provided.2) Initial setup is relatively easy. Plug it into the USB lighter adapter and the camera powers up. Step it through the questions on the dashcam display, all my responses were just to confirm OK, and it is ready to go, starts recording right away.3) Smart Phone App. Go to the Play Store and search for "Rove" and download the Rove Dashcam app. QR scan codes are provided in the manual that will take you directly to the Play Store download. For android, the link is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rovedashcam.android4) Connect Smart Phone. Turn on the wifi button on the dashcam (physical button at bottom, center with orange triangular symbol). Turn on wifi on your smart phone. Scan and connect to the ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam that shows up. Use the password that is displayed on the dashcam display. The display is pretty small so you may need something to magnify to read or reference the manual page 29 - link provided below.5) Configure smart phone app. Step through the questions, they are pretty straight forward. When I did the setup, the dash cam found the correct time and date automatically. You can check by going to the Settings -> System -> Date/Time on your the Rove smart phone app, after setup is completed to ensure the correct date and time are set and make adjustments if needed.6) Customizing Settings: The default settings were pretty much on target. There are customizable options for the following that I saw people asked some questions about:A) Audio Recording - On/OffB) Duration of Video Loop Recording Segments - 1, 3, 5, 10 minute video clip lengths; smaller clips make it easier to find events in your videoC) Video Resolution - Font/Main Camera: 4K, 2K, 1K HD; Rear Camera: 1K HD onlyD) Video Stamping with time, position, speed infoIf you have questions about additional features, download the manual, search and review to find settings you are interested. The manual is well done and pretty complete.R2-4K Dashcam OEM Product Page: https://www.rovedashcam.com/products/rove-r2-4k-dual-dash-cam-front-and-rear-starvis-2-sensor-free-128gb-card-included-5g-wifi-up-to-20mb-s-fastest-download-speed-with-app-4k-2160p-fhd-dash-camera-for-cars-3-ips-24h-parking-modeR2-4K Dashcam Manual: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2287/2433/files/CPL_For_R2-4K_R2-4K-PRO_R2-4K-DUAL_User_Manual_Updated_JAN-2025.pdfThis was everything I needed to get the dash cam up and running.
Awesome easy To Install total system the way you want it. I purchased two of these and bought the complete add-ons to make it the way I wanted and the way it's offered by Rove. Front/Rear/Cabin/Park Monitor/500 g Scan Card. This system is so awesome you will not be sorry you got it if you want perfect Video/Audio and park Monitor saved to you can DL to any device you want to store or send it to. The installation is very well spelled out in an owner's manual that you can read in readable print. I was so impressed for the price and performance the first one did, I bought this 2nd one for my new Truck. You can also run without the park monitor which requires the purchase of Hardware kit for park and all works perfectly less parking monitor as well.
WELL WORTH IT. I can honestly say that I am very pleased with this dash cam. I have had it for about a week now and everything seems to be in working order so far. The camera is high quality 4k resolution and has a clear picture. I didn't opt to use the suction cup but instead used the extremely durable sticky tape. It was all easy to set up and the app controls everything you want. It comes with a 128 GB memory card and loops videos so that hit oldest gets deleted and all to not take up space on the memory card. Everything automatically downloads to the app and gets saved. You don't have to pull up the app while your driving because it stays recording and still save everything. The reason for the 4/5 stars is that when it's connected to the Wifi it won't allow me to use my phone any other way. I can't listen to music while I'm driving or send messages. Its because it does come with 5g wifi connection but it is without internet. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this product to those who want that extra layer of security while driving around all of the crazy drivers.
Great Improvement over my older Dash Cam. Have an older dash cam and this one is a significant improvement. Controls are visible in front vs on the side like my old ROAV dash cam which makes it easier to operate. The wi-fi to the phone is much faster. Downloading videos to the phone is very easy but transferring the recording to another agency such as your insurance company is harder because the increased resolution requires more memory and is near impossible to transfer between mailboxes. But I am using a 3 minute loop because that is what I am used too. Have not tried the 1 minute loop yet so maybe it can transfer. Therefore I have to use the Dropbox app to transfer videos. Makes it harder but the increase resolution makes it worth while. The rear camera is very good and it is easy to display front or rear at the touch of a button. I am considering buying another unit to install in my older second car because the rear camera can serve as a backup camera. For setup I recommend watching all installation videos first. Then I would setup the system on your desk to make sure everything is working. While on the desk you can setup the memory card and review all the menu settings. For the most part the default values should work for you until you get familiar with it.
Very pleased. Easy to fit. works well. Fast delivery. Affordable.
Mejor imposible, la definicion de la camara es insuperable, fácil de usar y con el filtro que venden por separado incrementa la calidad del video, el sercicio a cliente es de clase mundial, Inmejorable. Excelente. 100% Recomendable
Extremely happy , easy to fix, well packed, and very easy to navigate the menu and checking recorded files, using the app we'll make things very smooth for you
The exterior finish is perfect! The quality of the material is what I’m looking for. The features and performance is indeed true as specified in the manual and as advertised! The packaging tells you that the product is well thought and designed for buyers with good taste and looking for best quality dashcam! The items inside are well organized, packed separately per items, with corresponding manuals, easy to install and it serves the best of its purpose and functions beyond your expectation!
Im impressed by the quality and simplicity of this setup. I perched the hardwired kit from Rove and I think it is a better way to go. I installed the camera kit in a Sorento 2025. the provide wire for the rear camera in the ward-wire kit is adequate length by fishing the wire underneath the scuff plate without removing trim. Everything you need comes in the kit. Even the fuse holder that works flawlessly and rapidly. I was amazed by the small multimeter/test light being provided in the hard-wired kit the work like a charm. Great quality video with the front and the rear camera. The Rove app is user friendly and you do not need university degree to be able to navigate and setting up all the parameters via your phone. Whit the built in wifi it is easy to access your footage in case of emergency or provide as proof of imbecility of other drivers 😇. The built in gps provides precise positioning wen properly enter the gps tine zone.

Great Cam and a Great Price! Packed with features. We purchased the F7N Redtiger camera about 18 months ago and it has now paid for itself 100x over when it provided evidence to the police and insurance that my wife was not the one at fault in an accident that totaled her vehicle and the other party lied to the police. My wife was going to get the ticket after the officer talked to the other party first, but she was able to show the officer the cam video and they reversed course and issued the ticket to the other party. Then the other party lied to their insurance, but after providing the video to their insurance, the adjuster immediately accepted 100% responsibility.Easy to install and with clearly written English instructions. Great suction cup with integrated GPS antenna makes installation a breeze. Cam will slide off mount if you want to hide it while parked without removing the entire mount. Crystal clear video, front at 4k and back at 2k, produce high resolution video where you can read license plates and even identify who was driving another vehicle.Even more importantly, it has a good app that you can use to directly download video from the cam without pulling the card and taking it to a computer. Just in case you are in an accident, you can instantly download the relevant video to your phone and show to Law Enforcement and e-mail to your insurance company. This is hugely important so a ticket can be issued to the at-fault party on scene as my wife did. If you can't show the officer when writing the report, they may issue the ticket to the wrong party or no one if they can't figure out who was at fault. If this happens, it's a long up-hill battle to get the other party's insurance to pay out and the police will never cancel an incorrectly issued ticket, so it forces you to go to court to defend yourself. If you are in a serious accident (if anyone goes to the hospital, it's serious), the officer may confiscate the SD card or even the whole camera for evidence. You may not get it back for weeks or even months. Sometimes they get lost an then you have nothing. Have a copy safely on your phone so you can give it to your insurance company and lawyer immediately!Buy the REDTIGER F7N Dash Cam Hardwire Kit to go with it if you want 24/7 monitoring without killing your car battery. Never wonder who backed into you in a parking lot or keyed your car if it happens to you. Some things that set Redtiger apart from the others:They actually have tech support. We had an issue with one camera not liking our SD card and contacted support to see if we had a bum Cam or bad setting as the issue was intermittent. Turns out it was just a faulty card after running a write test on the computer. Not a big issue as SD cards are cheap, but good to know that if you have an issue that Redtiger does support what they sell.Software updates. We've owned the F7N for about 18 months and have received software updates to improve functionality. The cam was great when we got it and even better now with new features added.Proof in the pudding:We liked our F7N so much we just bought another Redtiger cam, a F7N Touch, for a new (to us) vehicle and it's great too.Note: I wasn't paid for this review nor given a demo unit or anything else. I'm only a satisfied customer that is enjoying the premium quality and features at a great price vs the big-name competitors and their high prices.
Great Support Staff. This is my first dash cam, so other than reading reviews, I new very little. It's been my experience that the accompanying instruction manuals are often of little help, although this one was slightly better. I also turned to youtube but even they, left things out, that I wanted to know. How do you turn the unit on and off, how do you pause a recording, why are there only four buttons and so many icons and how am I supposed to remember how to use the same button for a variety of functions? There was a phone number in the manual, so I figured I'd better call it in hopes of reducing my frustrations. They were extremely accommodating and ran me though a one on one, step by step, assistance.I also kept trying to use this cam as a touch screen, since after all, every phone these days has this feature. It was explained to me that there was a touch screen but that I had ordered a model without. Believe it, or not, they helped me out with that and I now have a Touch model, F7NT.I gave this five stars because this company is amazing and the cameras are superb. I therefore did not detract a star because I am convinced that they will listen closely, make a few changes and then they will have the best possible cams.Negatives: Too many icons on the cam video screen. The icons are too small and virtually useless because they are on your windshield, which is difficult to reach. All this does is create confusion.Sometimes the cam wants you to turn off wi-fi to access features, which is ridiculous. Wi-Fi should always be on whenever the phone is nearby and it should record to your phone so that you can access all features as you like on your phone. The small screen on the cam is virtually useless.Playback choices should not be visible on the cam. Remove as many icons as possible and apply them only after video is downloaded to your phone or to a computer.Negatives: Downloading to a phone is nearly impossible or at the very least, far too tedious.Solution: Remove the SD card from the cam, utilize a thumb drive for the SD card and view your video on your laptop or PC. There is a Redtiger Player available that you can and should download that contains all of the functions for playback of this cam.Negatives: When playing back the video the informational text for things like time stamp, GPS, etc. shows up at the bottom of the screen, which can sometimes make it hard to read, since it's also very small.Solution: Place the informational text at the top of the screen, which generally is viewing SKY, and make it larger since this area is not of importance in any way.Negatives: There is a time setting where when files are created, you must choose - 1 minute, 3 minutes or 5 minutes. Thereby after downloading files you can select from a bunch of files, presumably to facilitate finding the file you wanted. Still tedious indeed.Solution: As the cam is recording, allow the recording to directly access and download to your phone without interruption. Perhaps have a 1 hour period and then over write to withhold no more than one hour on your phone. If there has been an occurrence you can simply SAVE the file. To view it you could easily see it on your phone or you could send it to your big screen tv. The SD card would merely become a backup for emergency situations.Bottom Line: The suggestions above are really about User Friendliness. If anything, I believe that they have attempted to input too many features. I'm recommending simplifying the process with slightly different thinking. I also recommend buying the Touch model, as without it, it's somewhat awkward to use. The picture quality is great, front and back and the service is excellent. You get what you pay for.The method of operation and the thought pattern for usage should be that you view your video on a laptop, or pc, on the Player app that is provided. In short, the cam records, the app provides viewing via computer. I really like the app since it provides both front and rear at the same time, plus you can zoom the view and even choose only front or only back as you like. All info is visible like GPS, a google may of travel, speed of travel, date and time. This app is a very important part of the operation. Still it could use a bit of tweaking. Overall, I love this thing. I can't imagine what it would have been like to have this in the early 80s when I was a private investigator.
Great dash cam, just needs an option to remember last display mode used. I've been using the REDTIGER F7NP Dash Cam for a while now, and overall, I'm very impressed with its performance. The 4K front and 1080P rear recording provides crystal-clear video quality, making it easy to read license plates and road signs. The night vision capability is outstanding, capturing clear footage even in low-light conditions. Installation was straightforward, and the included Wi-Fi and GPS features add significant value, allowing for easy video downloads and accurate location tracking. My only suggestion for improvement would be regarding the display settings. I prefer viewing the direction and speed on the screen, but each time restart my vehicle, the display defaults back to showing the front and rear camera views. It would be great if the dash cam could remember the last display mode used, maintaining my preferred setting after a restart.Despite this inconvenience, the REDTIGER FZNP is a reliable and feature-rich dash cam that I would highly recommend to others.I would love if the REDTIGER team could respond to this on if there are any plans for firmware updates to that would include remembering the last display mode each time the module restarts. That one change would make this a 5 start review!

Their commitment to quality and customer service makes them a brand I can highly recommend to anyone in need of a dependable dash cam solution.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 - Absolutely worth it!
Kompakte Kamera.
Memory issue, programming bad...
This is my first time trying the dash cam and to be honest I am really overwhelmed with the quality of the product with exceptional customer service. The installation of the product is super easy, it comes with the required tool which will come handy during installation. The quality of video footage is also nice, comparing with some super expensive one this one has all the feature and quality.I had some issue with the mount and support was so kind to replace it for me which i got the next day.

Love it. every time you hear the camera beat when you hit something bump hard Anything it beeps, you take the card out stick it in a reader and it'll show you at that moment what the camera was looking at. I like it and it works great!!!!
Very good dash cam. The f200 pro is a very usable dash cam with good quality video and audio. I have the 2 channel (front and rear) system an feel much better knowing it’s always watching. Very reliable and for the price it’s a great buy.
Recommended. Camera works well. Setup was relatively easy. Video quality is great. The only downside is the mobile app is finicky, so I sometimes have to restart it a couple times to make it work. Overall worth the money.
Doesn’t come with hardwire kit. I bought a Thinkware camera for myself last year and it came with a hardwire kit. So I bought this camera for my GF for her birthday and just assumed it came with the wire too because it specifically states “parking mode ready”.Two weekends later I get a spot cleared out in my shop and we both have the day off of work so I can put this camera in for her. Open the box and no hard wire kit!! I just had to order one separately and it was $30.00!!!!! Not happy. Only leaving 4 stars because Thinkware makes kick ass cameras.
Junk and horrible Interface. The App needed to view images is crap and difficult to use. The “Record” button to mark events is so small it’s difficult to find when you need it.
Good camera. Good quality dash cam for your car at all affordable price
Easy installation and good picture quality. Installed the camera a week ago so I'm not able to provide a rating based on long term usage, but so far I please with the picture quality and compared to other cameras I've tried the set up was very easy. I'll follow up after I've used the camera for a longer period
Nice dashcam. Easy to install. I replaced my old DashCam with this one. So far it’s working good.
This is my first dash cam and I have no real experience with other security cameras. I like the size of this camera. I was able to mount it behind the rear view mirror so it’s very unobtrusive. I’m not handy but I was able to install it myself ticking away the wire while being mindful of the air bags. The app works well and pulling off the videos was simple. So far, I’m happy with this
I bought this camera as a theft deterrent and also to record hit and runs. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the build quality, size, picture/video quality, and ease of installation. It has a very wide angle 1080p lens that picks up everything going on in front of the car. I have it hardwired to vehicle battery so that it is always recording upon motion detection. That hardwire kit is an added piece to the kit ($40), It does however come with a cigarette lighter adapter. The reason why I chose to go with the hardwire kit was because the cigarette lighter in my car only has power when the ignition is on. I wanted this camera to be able to monitor when my car was off and I was not inside it.This dashcam does not have a screen built-in so you don't have to worry about being sidetracked in the middle of the night while you're driving. Anytime you want to view what the camera has recorded, simply open the thinkware app and connect to your dash cam so you can view the footage. There is a memory card that it comes with as well. All video footage will be stored on there until you download it to your phone or computer. Night vision quality is above par, have no complaints about that it seems to pick up a lot of motion even from the other side of the street. You can adjust sensitivities and different settings inside of the app as well. The camera has 2 expansion ports as well. One of them is a GPS slot where you can plug in the optional GPS puck, usually goes for about $45 - $50 on Amazon, which would give you speed Telemetry and will warn you on any sort of red light cameras up ahead. When you park your car in the driveway at night, the GPS puck will pick up your Wi-Fi at home and will automatically update or download any new additions for red light cameras Within Canada or the United States, so that you are updated for the next day of driving. The other expansion port is for the rear camera, if you would like to purchase that. If you do buy it, it comes with a back 1080p camera with about 25ft - 30ft of cable that will plug into the dash cam the exact same way the GPS Puck plugs in.Lastly every time you get into the vehicle and you turn it on, the dashcam has an automated voice that will speak to you and it will let you know how many times it detected motion and how many times there was a recorded hit. Keep in mind any time you open or close the door, the trunk or the hood, the dashcam records it as a hit as well.
Work’s great
I have only had it about a week, so long term I can't comment. But initial thoughts, easy to setup, has good picture, it is sensitive with the shock sensor as it notifies when triggered. Compact and the wifi feature is great, it can handle 128g cards which is great also, is you will have less rewrites on the card hopefully prolonging the life of them.
Very disappointed that it came used, when I specifically ordered a new one. The box was torn and the seal was broken. No instructions in the box. I paid the full amount for a new one and got the used one at no discount! Dissatisfied to say the least. Hopefully it works well.

Great camera super simple to install. This camera has great picture quality and the added features that it has with GPS are great. This was super simple to install it took me longer to unpack it than to install it, you just need basic install skills and most important the ability to figure out how to do something and a little common sense to go along. Ford sells Thinkware as an accessory, but they charge twice the price for it, but I can see why they pick Thinkware it is a great camera. Well worth the money. I will not go into every little detail because I am not trying to sell it but to just say what I think about it for my use! From what I see I am the only person reviewing this that actually put money out for it everyone else got it for free so this is a review from an actual buyer! It has now been over five months that I have had this camera installed and it is still working very well and the video that I have gotten has been good from both the front and rear cameras, I have had no problems with it at all and it is still working just as it did the first time, I turned it on. I do not see how people have so much trouble with it because it is so simple and so is the app that it has. Also, the video from both cameras is in the correct orientation and not upside down. This will be my last update because I cannot see writing any more since the camera works so well. As I said before it is money well spent and am glad I have it.
An instruction manual would be nice. No instruction manual at all! I’ve used Thinkware dashcams before, so I had an idea on how to set the unit up. AND IT STILL WAS A PAIN IN THE ARSE! Download a new app, Set up the WIFI, Update the software, Try and scan a blurry non working code, Figure a workaround for that, Download files for the red light photo and speed zones, Set the parameters for camera and driving features without knowing what they are……. Not Easy! YouTube videos helped somewhat… A simple instruction manual would have alleviated all this headache.Sound quality could be improved as well. But other than that, it’s a real nice working unit.
Great product. This dash cam just launched this year so it has the newest technology. I am satisfied with the performance and quality.Easy to installI found the user manual in the support section of the Thinkware Link app, followed it and installed in a short amount of time.Easy to connect to the app.Clicked the WiFi icon on the screen, scanned the QR code shown with the Thinkware Link app, connected!Smart driving alerts (recommendedFront vehicle departure warning and Traffic signal alert features are really convenient. The response time of both features are fast and alerts you right away. It notifies you when the signal changes and when the vehicle in front of you starts to drive off. I tend to get distracted easily when driving. The drivers behind can thank Thinkware for offering these features in their dash cams.Comes with a memory card.It is kind of nice that Thinkware included a memory card, most of the other brands don't come with one. 32GB of memory isn't a lot but at least I didn't have to hassle in buying one separately.I will update this review in a few months after I get in some use.
My Honest Review. [Updated on 10/12/24]Customer service finally gave me an answer (after about 3 months I submitted my initial complaint). They told me to turn off night vision, and they had no other solution. But I’ve already turned it off, and I still could not record license plates at night. What is the point of advertising “super night vision” if you’re saying not to use it? Basically, this is a product that they cannot fix.—————————————[My Original Review]I have tried many dashcams through the years. I have tried from $50 entry dashcams to the more expensive Starvis 2 sensor ones. I was not happy with the cheaper ones due to poor image quality. The ones with the latest Sony’s image sensor were a little better, but they did not justify the high pricetag. Also, the great reviews online about their capability to capture license plates at night — I learned you should take those with a grain of salt. Then I decided to go another direction. I decided to give the Arc, which is Thinkware’s new mid-level product, a try. Here are some things I have found after using this product extensively over the past 4 months.Pros:1. Good daytime images for front AND rear cameras.2. Reliable motion detection and impact recording with trademark beep sound3. Energy saving parking mode4. Useful ADAS feature which alerts you when signal turns green or the car ahead of you is leaving. Also warns you of red light cameras. I love this feature. It is somewhat accurate and immediately gives notifications.5. Nice blinking LED security light in motion parking mode.(you can also turn it off)6. Connects to your phone via WIFI so you can view recordings or change settings.7. Rear camera image quality during the day is as good as the front.8. Comes with a hardwire kit9. Sensitive sensors (you can adjust the sensitivity) — assures even minor impacts will be detected10. Beautiful designCons:1. The touch screen won’t respond many times2. The rear camera orientation won’t reverse in the app so you need to install it correctly the first time3. This could be a deal-breaker: Night recording tends to be blurry or over-exposed, making it almost impossible to read any license plates at night. The rear camera is even worse.4. Volume (female system voice) is annoyingly loud even on the lowest setting.5. Need to turn carplay off to connect to phone.6. The dashcam body consistently remains very hot when it is on, even during parking mode. I am worried if the circuits will withstand the heat longterm.7. Thinkware’s dashcam viewer app for Mac has issues. Also, it is recorded in km per hour, not mph even when you adjust the settings.8. Battery low warning comes on my car after 1 or 2 days continuously parked in parking mode.9. No option to turn on security LED lights during energy saving parking mode. Also, no LED light function at all on the rear camera.10. Terrible customer support. It’s been 2-3 months since I asked them for help because night recording are so blurry, but all they did was keep asking me to send sample recordings to them. I responded to all their requests and sent many footages, but they suddenly stopped responding to me. They are not responding to me at all after having me send so many of my recordings. I have not seen such disrespect from any company. Looked like they wanted to keep me only until the return period ended. This dashcam’s night time image quality is very poor and has serious issues. It’s basically night and day (no pun intended). I would not recommend this dashcam if you drive at night or want to use parking mode at night since license plate recognition is so poor that it is inlikely to capture any license plate numbers in an accident. Your headlights will over-expose any license plates in front and any darkness will blur it out — nothing in between. What’s the point of having a dashcam when it can’t read a license plate 3 feet in front of you? I have tested other cheaper dashcams and they had better night recordings than this. There are features like the ADAS feature which alerts you when the signal turns green. Or security blinking LED lights which many other brands don’t have. But there are too many cons. It was even frustrating just to set the time correctly since the Arc dashcam uses some weird time zone system. Overall, the Arc dashcam kind of feels like it’s unpolished which is why I regret buying this dashcam. I have lost all credibility in Thinkware. I have reached out to Thinkware and asked for assistance on these issues, and they still haven’t provided any real solution yet for 2 months now. They kept telling me “rest assured we will support you.” But as soon as my return window closed, they stopped replying. I was hoping Thinkware’s engineers would develop a firmware or software update to improve all or any of these issues I’ve mentioned above. But, now I don’t expect it will ever happen. I feel I’ve been tricked to keep this product and not be able to return it since the deadline passed. My Final verdict: I do not recommend this product or the brand.
Much improved from previous models/app. I have an older Thinkware dash cam and decided to give them another try. The camera was always solid, but the app was a joke. Not a huge deal because I just took the card out and manually grabbed files when I wanted them. This version with their new app is much better, but still not an amazing app. Everything works as expected, video access is simple, and the video quality is still good. Just isn't very intuitive what they set in the options. It has an included rear camera as well which I didn't have before, perfect to run to the back of a crew cab truck rear window. I'd get this model again just for the video quality and video that records every time without thinking about it. Never had to use it for anything major yet, but I've looked at a few crazy drivers on playback, got everything I wanted to see.
The ease of installation/operation was a major contributing factor in purchasing these cameras. The size was perfect. The quality of video, front and rear cameras, PARKING MODE, PRICE, loop recording and ease of operation sealed the deal. Everything was explained in detail enough for me to understand what this camera did and what I needed to use it. Our first dash cam and I have to say we’re pleased. However, my husband’s camera is mounted in a one ton Dually and even with the incident sensitivity set to “low/lowest” - the incident warning beeps has him a bit annoyed. We live in Saskatchewan and our highways are atrocious to say the least. Needless to say the incident recording alarm goes off quite a bit. It could be a deal breaker for him. I’ll try to find online videos that may help with this.I haven’t gone anywhere in my vehicle yet. I hope I have a bit more luck. The connectivity, well, I’m gonna have to re-read that portion a few times. Not sure I’m understanding that. That’s about the only difficulty we had installing these dashcams. The app would be great to use. They’re a bit glitchy yet, not sure if that’s the operators fault or just a glitch. The main greeting when starting the vehicle is played only some of the times prior to our trip, leaving us wondering if it’s recording at all, but the we hit a bump and the incident warning bells go off lol.Being new to the world of dash cams, I’m hoping this is just a learning curve, time will tell I suppose. Super excited to get the kinks worked out I really like this set.
I decided to get this dash cam after my friend was in an accident because I wanted it to help me with any insurance claims in the future. The video quality is great, I love the sleek design and the LCD touchscreen was intuitive and responsive, making it easy to use.The camera was simple to install after reading the instructions and watching videos online. The most time consuming part is hiding the wires. At first, I found connecting to the WiFi to be difficult, but after re-reading the instructions on how to connect, I realized that I was scanning the QR code incorrectly. At first, I was scanning the QR code with my camera, but you are suppose to scan the QR code in the mobile app. After realizing that, it was simple to connect to the settings and WiFi to view my videos. While the price is a little higher than other dash cams I was looking at, it is worth it due to the diverse built-in safety and smart driving alerts and the peace of mind it provides me while I’m driving. I highly recommend it!
One of best priced, feature packed dashcams on the market that has "2K" recording. Installation in the wifes Durango was good up until I had to install and adjust the rear cam. For some reason this dashcam from Thinkware does not have "Live View" in the app, so very difficult to set up by myself. I needed someone to watch the cam at the front of the vehicle while I was in the rear.Alot of features packed in the dashcam like Red Light & Speed Trap Warnings with the GPS that's regularly updated as far as I can tell. Also has Go on Green & Vehicle Advance Notifications... Useful if you're slightly distracted or day dreaming. There are other Traffic related features too but I don't use them.Video Recording Quality is very good. Not "2K" good but alittle bit below that maybe.
Small but works well, Good video quality with 2K resolution, Easy to install, Straightforward with the LCD screen.
Wish I hadn’t bought this dashcam. It didn’t even record someone who dinged the front bumper of my Car and since it’s over 30 days return policy I can’t even return it and it also doesn’t automatically save recordings to the cloud and show in the app. It also has to be connected every single time you want to view recordings. Overall I don’t recommend buying this cheap and bad.

Easy to use and install - An excellent starter dashcam. Like many of you I have long thought about getting a dashcam to protect my family and I as we drive. So after doing way too much research and reading reviews I settled on the N4 Pro. There's lots of options out there and I felt that the Vantrue camera was a solid choice.I like the fact that the three cameras were all available in high resolution and have excellent night vision as well. The cabling is easy enough to hide with a little effort - but don't let that deter you. The end result is well worth the effort to have a clean install. The camera attaches really securely to the windshield with a super strong 3m adhesive backing. No suction cups that a lot of cheaper cameras give you. The 3m adhesive ensures that the camera ain't going anywhere under any circumstance. Same with the rear camera that you attached to your rear window.I love the additional capability of using a hard-wire always option (it is sold separately) as opposed to the cigarette adapter. I purchased this hard-wire module and have zero regrets. It ensures that the camera is always recording - even in a low-bitrate mode when parking for extended periods. And no dangling cables going down to the center console for power. My favorite thing about the camera system is the ability to use the smartphone app for monitoring and replay - especially in the case of an accident. You may need to be able to show the police what happened at the scene of the accident, and with a smartphone app connected to your dashcam you'll have that ability. As opposed to having to retrieve the microSD card, take it home, get the video off of it, email it.... you get the idea. Having the app ensures that I have the video data always available at a moment's notice. This type of additional assurance is priceless. Some things to note when you get the cam - go through the settings and make sure you've configured it the way you want it. You can't adjust settings while the vehicle is in motion. So drive with it to get a feel for how it operates and then park and make adjustments. For me, the roads where I live are pretty terrible in most places so I found that every pothole and bump triggered the cam to take a picture because of the vibration. I reduced the sensitivity setting so that it doesn't trigger for each pothole and bump. Also, I changed the app/camera connection timeout to 'never' essentially making sure the app is always connected to the camera when the vehicle is on. I found the default setting of '10 minutes' was annoying because you would have to reconnect the app periodically, which is super distracting and dangerous to do while driving. So yea, once you get some initial settings tweaked to your liking this camera system is super solid.I've seen some reports of overheating - I can't confirm that because I installed it this winter and I haven't noticed any overheating at this point. We'll see if that changes this summer, but like anything that is attached to your windshield, it wouldn't surprise me if it got pretty hot in the sun.tl;dr - great cam, easy to use and install, perfect for your first dashcam. buy with confidence!
*Fantastic 4K Dash Cam, Worth the Price*. This is my 4th Vantrue dashcam so I am very familiar with this brand. I’ve been using the N2 Pro for several years but needed another one and Vantrue has been fairly reliable compared to other brands I’ve bought. I will say first of all that their customer service is definitely better than most other companies so that is one reason why I like this brand. They tend to stand by the product (even after the supposed warranty period). So take this into account when buying a dashcam, especially if you are paying several hundreds of $. Vantrue actually responds fairly quickly to any issues with their dashcams (I’ve had 2 small matters come up over the past 4-5 years only). So after looking around I opted for this newer Nexus Pro 3 channel dashcam. The suction mount is very similar to my N2 Pro and when it is really hot, it falls off. I have had to gently re-wet the suction mount a few times already and have done it a number of times with my N2 Pro. But for the most part it suctions all right. Again, it’s only when it is scorching hot outside that the suction tends to unmount. It does not happen all that often. Installation is very easy with 3M tape for mounting, no problems. The video quality is very good! If you want the 4K you’ll need to run the front cam by itself but even doing the 1440 is totally fine. The videos are MP4 format so that is handy and easy and “events” get stored in a separate folder to locate easily. All cameras have good quality (the front is the best of course). The mic quality is outstanding and the LCD screen is fairly large for something like this. This dash cam does have wifi access but honestly I have found wireless access a chore and slow. I prefer to use the microSD card anyway and just view files or events on my laptop with the card. It’s just faster and you don’t have to deal with laggy processing. As for GPS tracking I have not used that function but it is built in if you want to use that. I am suspicious of using GPS though because it does track your speed [hahaha]. Also if you want to have a more permanent parking mode you will want to buy a hardwire kit or use a kind of portable power bank. These things only cost about $15 these days so it isn’t bad at all.Overall I give this N4 Pro 3 channel dashcam 5 stars because the company is very good and the quality of the cameras is excellent and for the ease of use. Going through all the settings is intuitive and easy and you can have this thing setup in no time and on the road. It’s a really good dashcam overall and you can’t beat 3 channels (3 cameras). I give it 5 stars for build quality, performance, and customer support. Yes it costs a little more but it’s worth it. Highly recommended!
Amazing 3-Channel Dashcam. I have been using it for 3 months and wanted to review it. I drive for Uber and this 3-channel dashcam gives me peace of mind by recording the front, rear, and cabin simultaneously. It is a bit pricey, but the quality matches the value. It came with all the tools to install and it took me an hour to install everything. I'm sure others can do it faster. The 4K video from the front-cam is really awesome as I captured a lot of my scenic drives. The night-vision for the cabin camera is solid. The smartphone app is minimal, functional, just does what is important. The only thing I'd like to see an improvement is either change the power cable to type-C (it is a cigarette lighter adapter now) or make the default one fast charging capable. My phone charges slowly using the adapter, but that is not a dealbreaker for me. Overall, the camera works as marketed, solid build, quality footage, and the peace of mind is important.
The Vantrue N4 Pro 3 Channel 4K Dash Cam is the best dashcam I've ever owned. Having upgraded from the Vantrue X4S, the difference is night and day, especially in terms of connectivity, video quality, and reliability.First off, the 4K front camera, coupled with 1080P interior and rear cameras, offers great clarity. The STARVIS 2 Night Vision technology provides surprisingly good footage in low-light conditions; I was really surprised by the clarity. So no matter the time of day, N4 Pro captures everything in great detail, including crucial elements like license plates—exactly what you'd expect from a premium dash cam.One of the most significant improvements over my previous X4S model is the Wi-Fi connectivity. The N4 Pro maintains a solid connection with the app, and the app itself is incredibly user-friendly. I can easily download footage directly to my phone right after any incident without having to fumble around in the settings, which is a lifesaver when you need instant access to evidence. The other week, I witnessed an accident, and thanks to this dash cam, I was able to capture clear, reliable footage without any hassle.Another major plus is the GPS functionality. Unlike the X4S, which struggled with location accuracy (often thinking I was in Britain), the N4 Pro nails both location and speed tracking. It gives real-time, accurate data for every trip, which is great for when reviewing footage and ensuring all details are captured correctly.OKAY, THE ONE DOWNSIDE! - the N4 Pro does run warm, and at first, I was concerned about potential overheating (as others here have suggested). To address this, I turned on the setting that automatically turns off the LCD screen 30 seconds after the car starts. This has kept the device cool during the summer months, and I actually prefer driving with the screen off to avoid any distractions. If you ever need the screen back on, a quick press of a button will reactivate it.Compared to other dash cams on the market, the Vantrue N4 Pro stands out for its reliability, excellent video quality, and robust features. The 4K resolution, superior night vision and accurate GPS tracking, makes it a top-tier choice for anyone serious about road safety. While there are other high-end dash cams available, very few offer the trifecta of front, interior, and rear coverage with such clarity and ease of use.In summary, the Vantrue N4 Pro is a must-have for any driver looking for peace of mind on the road. It’s a significant step up from previous models, and it easily outshines many of its competitors. Highly recommended! Even with the downside of it running hot with the LCD screen on, I still believe it is 5 stars since I was able to figure out how to circumvent it from overheating and I don't need the LCD screen on while driving.
I was looking for a dashcam system to upgrade my old single channel dashcam. This dashcam system suited my needs. The 3 channels provides complete coverage in the front, back, and the inside with excellent video quality in both day and night. Been using it for a few days and all I can say is that I'm impressed. Comes with lots of features, like GPS and voice control. Voice control is pretty responsive, but sometimes might not pick up the command. Not a big issue though since I don't use the voice control that much.Connecting to the dashcam via the app is really simple. Although the dashcam has a screen, the live preview from the phone made setting up the dashcam position so much easier. Easily view and download the video clips from the app, and downloading clips over the 5GHz wifi is quite quick too. All the settings can also be set from the app, which makes changing settings so much easier than setting on the dashcam itself (though you can still do that). This dashcam will record 3 separate files (front, rear, and cabin), so be sure to get a large memory card. You might think you don't need a interior cabin camera, but let me tell you, the interior cabin camera is not just for rideshare drivers. Sometimes the police can make mistakes and might accuse you of something you didn't do. But you need evidence to prove your innocence. If the police pulls you over because they think you were looking at your phone while driving but you were not, then you have video proof from the cabin camera proving you were not on your phone. The interior cabin camera angle is wide enough to capture the movements of the driver and passenger, and even backseat passengers (depending on where you install it). Or if the police says you or your passenger weren't wearing your/their seatbelt when you/they actually were, then you have video proof of that as well. Or if you get robbed in the car, you have video of the criminal's face. These things can be hard to prove in court, so having video evidence here will be very useful. Having been burned before because I didn't have interior camera to record my actions to prove myself innocent, I cannot stress enough the importance of protecting yourself these days, whether from the police or from other cars or people, and having this dashcam system will be super useful in proving your innocence.Only con I have about this is the slow start up. It takes maybe about 7-8 seconds after starting the car and the power port becomes active before the dashcam will boot up. Not a big problem for me though.Overall, a great dashcam with excellent quality and features, and I'm happy that I've invested in this dashcam to give me the peace of mind knowing I have protection in case an incident happens. You cannot go wrong with this dashcam.
I have had the N4 Pro for a few months now, and I highly recommend this dash cam system. I purchased a Vantrue N4 Pro for a 6000km trip to the US and back, but having it for local or regional driving is also reassuring, as most accidents happen closer to home. The video and photo quality are impressive for capturing the surroundings while in motion. An added bonus is that while travelling through scenic areas, the photo feature works great to take quick images, although that is not the intended purpose! As for using recorded information of something that happens while driving, it is important to remember that, moving targets, weather conditions, and how much debris is on the windshield/rear window will all affect quality. I can see license plate numbers well only in certain conditions: directly in front when close to a vehicle; when a vehicle is following closely behind (both of which mean it works for any mishaps while driving). Night video is of good quality as well, but illuminated license plates are not seen well, unless they are close. For sunny days, I am glad that I purchased a Circular Polarizer CPL Filter to go with the N4 Pro, to reduce glare and reflections from the windshield. The voice commands work very well. The first time I said "Take Video", it acted immediately, with no need to learn my voice—I was impressed. Ambient noise in the vehicle cabin can affect this function, however. For example, it does not respond well with the radio on. I found it necessary to print off the commands so my spouse or I could consult it while the other was driving. The app for my phone works well to change settings, rather than by using the camera’s own buttons. The VanTrue Player program for my Mac computer also works well for viewing videos and seeing the route tracked by the GPS that is imbedded in the video. I am very pleased with this product.
I don’t normally write a lot of reviews on products but I felt I so happy about my purchase of N4Pro to install in my new Nissan Ariya that I had to share my thoughts with my fellow Amazon customers in the market for a dashcam. I’m extremely ecstatic that I purchased this particular name brand after looking at a few other manufacturers. Since my Ariya is a EV I was advised to hook it up to an external battery for the fear of having the vehicle 12V battery drain out during the parking mode. First of all the N4Pro was carefully packaged & all the parts were easy to find & the installation was a breeze, I just followed the instructions in the manual & every thing worked out perfectly. After installing the front camera on the windshield with the supplied two way tape and I used the tool provided to tuck the wiring behind the windshield moulding then above the doors to the rear camera on the hatch door. The external battery was placed under the passenger seat & plugged into the cigarette lighter. I’m very pleased with the quality of the video being recorded, crisp sharp & beautifully focused not only during daylight but I would say the nighttime video is what sets this dashcam apart from my previous dashcams. The built in wifi allows me to review the video footage on the Vantrue app without touching the camera. Basically I purchased the N4Pro because I wanted to have the ability to record any future accidents to verify the facts instead of the made up nonsense of the other person involved in the incident. One of the most useful feature is the parking mode which allows the camera to start recording any movement or an impact to the vehicle from all angles while the vehicle is stationary. Another feature that I like is the audio control system I can use to command the camera to record a video or take a still photo of the scenery on my journey. I only wish Vantrue would include a micro sd card in the box so I don’t have to worry about purchasing it from Amazon. I chose the more expensive 256 gb Vantrue sd card instead of a cheaper no brand which may not be compatible for this unit. Finally I want to offer my opinion to anyone looking to buy a dashcam. I would definitely recommend N4Pro for your vehicle as this unit is a high quality dashcam you can’t go wrong with.
