The transition away from Lightning connectivity to USB-C might have been mandated by European law, but it’s a huge relief for Apple fans exhausted from looking for that one specific cord. USB-C is fast, reliable, and universal, so adding it to the already deeply impressive second-generation AirPods Pro is a bonus. When we reviewed them, we called them “the best noise-cancelling true wireless earphones for Apple device users” and gave them an Editors’ Choice award. These just came out and they’re already discounted, so pick them up while the price lasts.

Full disclosure: these are the exact same headphones as the USB-C charging ones above, but with the soon-to-be-phased-out Lightning port. Still, these are stunningly potent earbuds. They feature powerful active noise cancellation and the fascinating Adaptive Transparency mode, which lets you modulate external sounds down to ear-healthy levels. The charging case even has a built-in speaker. You’ll get $60 off for the best AirPods, and it’s still a great buy if you plan to stick with Lightning cables for the near future.

Apple likes to let the marketplace shape its product offerings over time in an iterative design process. The major complaint that people had with the second-gen AirPods was insufficient bass response, so the company went deep for the follow-up. In our review, we noted that audio quality was uniformly better across the board, with both treble and bass benefiting from new sensor arrays. These earbuds are lightweight, comfortable, and can deliver up to 30 hours of sound before recharging.

While the second-generation AirPods are showing their age, it’s still a nice deal to get wireless earbuds of this quality for under a hundred dollars. These were a significant upgrade from the debut model, introducing hands-free Siri access, the H1 headphone chip, and more. It’s ridiculously easy to pair them with your Apple devices. And battery life is decent, with the charger holding 24 hours’ worth of juice. If you’re shopping on a tight budget, these are the most affordable AirPods you can get.
